Botox in Kaysville, UT

At SilkeySkinMD we strive to give you the best consultations on improving your skin and natural beauty. To diminish the signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, we use neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport and Xeomin). These help reduce wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, chin, and lips. They work by reducing muscle tension.

Those seeking freedom from their fine lines and wrinkles love the great benefits that come from neuromodulators. These treatments contain purified proteins that are used to inhibit muscle movement in the face. The procedure takes about 15 minutes, allowing patients to return to their daily activities as soon as they leave the office.

Touch ups at 2 weeks are always FREE for neurotoxins that have been injected into an area at the above prices.Touching up allows us to re-treat any stubborn areas and address any concerns. This touch up is included for free and will allow us to deliver the precise dose your body needs instead of just following a “cookbook” approach to neurotoxin delivery. For first time patients or someone who has had an undesirable result in the past, this is where we can tailor your treatment without over treating an area and getting “frozen” results. This sets us apart from many other medical spas or offices in our area.

Patients are safe in the hands of our expert injectors (Dr. Silkey and RN Eric) who are expertly trained to administer this treatment, safely, quickly and with little pain. Below is a picture with areas that we use neuromodulators for cosmetic benefit.

What is a neuromodulator BOTOX®)?

A neuromodulator like BOTOX®, is purified botulinum toxin type A. It is a naturally
derived product used to reduce unwanted muscle activity or tension. It has been used for medical purposes for more than 20 years, primarily for ophthalmologic and neurologic muscular diseases, for which it is FDA approved. In addition to its medical applications, it has been used for the cosmetic reduction of facial expression lines for many years. It is considered safe and effective when properly used. Neuromodulators are great adjuncts to laser photorejuvenation and fillers in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and deep furrows in all ages.

Dysport and Xeomin are other brand name neuromodulators that work in a similar fashion to BOTOX® Cosmetic by reducing my muscle activity and tension. They are both great choices as well as Botox. Some people enjoy a quicker onset of action with Dysport.  Xeomin has been found in clinical studies, to be just as effective as Botox for cosmetic applications and is a little less expensive. Everyone is different in which one they like better and which one their body responds to best. We will discuss with you about which one you prefer and which one we recommend to obtain your desired results.

At SilkeySkinMD, we use neuromodulators, like Botox Cosmetic, that come from the manufactures in the United States and shipped properly to maintain safety and maximum effectiveness. Not all providers follow these guildelines, so be sure and ask your provider if they do.

What is the cause of wrinkles and facial expression lines?

Lines and wrinkles develop, at least in part, from the action of facial muscles on the overlying skin. After years, furrows may remain along these facial expression lines even without any active facial muscle expression. This is especially true of lines of the forehead
and between the eyebrows. Other lines, such as crow's feet, may make us appear older than our chronological age. The development of these lines is promoted by years of sun exposure, and to a lesser degree, by smoking. BOTOX® Cosmetic, along with the other neuromodulators Dysport and Xeomin are capable of preventing these unwanted facial expression lines and wrinkles.

How do neuromodulators work?

A neuromodulators acts by producing muscle relaxation at treated sites. It does this by inhibiting contraction of the targeted muscles, causing them to relax. The strategic relaxation of certain facial muscles leads to decreased wrinkling of the overlying skin.

Who is a Good Candidate for a neuromodulator like Botox?

You are a good candidate if you have wrinkles or fine lines from repetitive movement (frown or squinting for example). You must be in good overall health, have no active diseases or serious, pre-existing medical conditions, have allergies to any botulinum toxin product, and must have realistic expectations of the outcome of the procedure.

How are the Botox or other neuromodulator Injections Performed?

Using a very tiny needle, small amounts of Botox or other neuromodulator are injected into the muscles to be treated. Discomfort is minimal and lasts only a few seconds. Ice is used to provide comfort if desired.Re-injection is necessary within three to four months or more depending on the individual patient.

Planning for Your Procedure

The first step is to schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Silkey or Eric, our RN injectionist. Communication is crucial in reaching your goals. You will have the opportunity to express your goals and the results you'd like to achieve. Together, you and your provider will reach an understanding about what you can expect from this procedure and the benefits you will experience. Every patient is different, and your provider will choose the technique and treatment plan that is right for you.
