Many people have heard about Botox, either through magazine ads or TV commercials, but have you ever considered what Botox couldbotox do for you? It’s a minimally invasive way to get the smoother look you’ve always wanted without surgery. Our Kaysville, UT dermatologist Dr. Jacqueline Silkey knows how to breathe new life into your skin with our cosmetic dermatological treatments.

What is Botox?

This drug is made from a neurotoxin known as botulinum toxin. When injected into certain muscles it prevents the muscles from contracting and causing wrinkles. As a result, these wrinkles are reduced and the skin appears smoother and younger.

What Botox can do for you?

The number one use for Botox is to reduce wrinkles and fine lines in the face and neck. Of course, it’s important to note that while Botox can target wrinkles it isn’t effective against all types of wrinkles. Botox only works on dynamic wrinkles, which are lines that form as a result of furrowing your brows or making other facial expressions.

Botox is often used on forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, frown lines and lines around the chin. If wrinkles appear as a result of facial movement, Botox can treat them.

How long do Botox results last?

Once you get these Botox injections it takes about one to three days (and up to five days) for it to take effect and to see results. It is important to recognize that Botox results are not permanent, but can last about three to four months. So, if you’re happy with the way your skin looks after you get Botox in Kaysville you can always come back a couple months later for further treatments to maintain your fantastic results.

If you want to find out if you’re a good candidate for Botox then it’s time you scheduled a consultation with our dermatological expert in Kaysville, UT Dr. Jacqueline Silkey. You won’t be disappointed with your results.
